In this journal: Huge thank yous, artist and work update, contact info, and price cuts!

Last Friday was a Friday 13th and as we all know strange things are supposed to happen on these days. No ill deeds befell me on this day (apart from the usual street light going out and scaring me while walking my nightly ninja patrol) but instead I got a complimenting surprise.

According to the statistics I have by now been a member of deviantArt for six years. During those years I've had good times, bad times, been inspired, been accused of fan art whoring, met friends and the occasional troll. All in all it's been pretty good, but for all intents and purposes I never actually expected to rack up that infamous seven-digit pageview amount. In part because it never struck me as relevant, and because regardless of what people might think I may be pretty good but I am not that special actually.

To be perfectly honest this both makes me smile because sure enough it's a compliment! (not to mention it is a humbling feeling and likewise a bit surreal), but at the same time I'm somewhat wary. I'm not much of an active community person or a social butterfly and it confuses me when people expect things of me wholly unrelated to my person. Nevertheless, one hell of a compliment; THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT YOU ARE ALL AMAZING ♥ :'D


Work? Apart from November's Sketchavember project I have for a long while now been rather quiet across the board. This is regrettable and I apologise to commissioners and collaborators. Long story short, my health hasn't been what it should and besides the daily sketching and drawing I haven't been able to muster doing much at all. I am not even kidding: we're talking basic functions, basic work/chores, and some drawing. Even if has meant a harsh blow to my economics it has also been a very therapeutic 'break', but I feel that I owe people some communication or at least a heads-up.

Due to this unplanned hiatus, new commissions are put on hold until I have finished the remaining waiting ones. As usual I am always open to questions and everyone who has emailed me will of course get a personal answer as soon as I can. It's the least I can do. I am hesitantly optimistic that I will be able to resume business-as-usual by December. Fingers crossed, people.

Email remains the safest way to contact me even if I am back-logged for least two weeks by now (sob). I am afraid notes on DeviantArt is too easily forgotten even if I do try otherwise. Unless I am invisible or listed as away on AIM it's always welcome to ping me a message/question/whatever. If I am busy or away I might ignore it or take my sweet time to answer (and I may not be a genius at keeping up a casual conversation with total strangers) but it is highly unlikely that it'd bother me that you message me.


In addition: ALL ITEMS IN THE DEVIANT ART PRINT SHOP HAS BEEN PRICE-REDUCED! As much as a ten dollar cut and more on several items and print sizes (especially so the old classics), and both calendars are now $19.95! If you are interested in seeing any other non-fan art image as print, just toss me a note or comment and I'll look into it.


Last but not least -thank you friends new and old, dear acquaintances and strangers who remain patient with me and make me smile. I treasure every comment even if it takes me forever to answer. Sometimes you make me smile, you baffle me, confuse me and sometimes even upset me, but most of all you are all an inspiration and for that I am grateful. ♥
