The story of Anastas Kazimir takes place in a dark, somewhat steam-punk, fairytale Russia. Anastas Kazimir was once upon a time a happy and bright yet naïve child of Cossack decent. Now, tossed aside by the country and leaders he fought so fiercly for, Anastas Kazimir sits at his post at the borders of no man’s land, brooding and cultivating his own private insanity.

The dog’s name is Vodka: also known as the dog that officially does not exist. Born from a stray on the streets of the big city, the puppy was found by the wandering general and brought home. Yet, if you ask Anastas Kazimir about the dog that can be seen trotting at his heels at times or carried under his arms at other, he’ll deny any such thing existing. Anastas Kazimir simply does not care for such miserably weak and fleeting things in this world as dogs or puppies. We areall born into this world alone and cold and we’ll all die alone and colder eventually, probably after a painful life: to keep/save a pet with no practical use is evidently so just cruelty on an unnecessary level for everyone involved and therefore nonsense. What Vodka thinks of Anastas is unknown, but he obviously to finds his company good enough.
